Erin Walsh , PT, DPT, MSPT

Education: Erin received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University in 1994. She continued her education at Quinnipiac and completed her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy, with a concentration in orthopedics in 2005. Erin joined PTSMC in 2000, and was promoted to Director of the Waterbury office in February 2011 and became Partner of this location in January 2014.

Clinical Interests: Erin has worked exclusively in an outpatient orthopedic setting and has experience working with all diagnoses. She has worked extensively with post-surgical rotator cuff repair and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty patients. She also has experience with rehabilitation of various hip and knee surgeries. Erin is trained in biomechanical foot assessment and orthotic management. In 2011, she completed training in the Graston Technique; used for the management of soft tissue injuries.


Kathryn Flodquist , PT, DPT, cert. MDT, CSCS

Education: Kathryn graduated from the University of Hartford in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. In 2011 she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University. Kathryn joined PTSMC in February 2007.

Clinical Interests:  Kathryn completed her Certification in Mckenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment in 2000, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She is a USA Triathlon Level 1 coach. Kathryn has over 10 years experience in outpatient physical therapy. Some of her clinical interests include, treatment of the shoulder and spine, and working with athletes.

Erik Lanese , ATC/L

Education: Erik graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training/Sport Medicine. He has been the Athletic Trainer at Holy Cross High School for over 15 years. He also teaches Neuroscience, Anatomy and Physiology and Biology at Holy Cross High School. Erik joined PTSMC in August 2013.

Clinical Interests: What Erik loves about his job is the fulfillment of educating and guiding each individual athlete through the whole process of injury, healing stages, functional activities and return to sport.

Fun Facts: When he’s not on the fields at Holy Cross, Erik enjoys time with his wife Shelley and two boys Kyle and Colin. He loves hitting the slopes in the winter, running road races in the spring, time at the beach in the summer and football in the fall.

Joanna Fisher , PT, DPT

Education: Joanna graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2013 from the University of Connecticut. She then went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from UCONN in spring 2016.

Clinical Interests: Joanna is especially interested in manual therapy and working on the spine and hip. She plans to pursue a specialist certification in orthopedics as well as her manual therapy certification. She has taken both the Graston 1 and Dry Needling 1 courses.

Fun Facts: Joanna’s biggest passion is horseback riding, which she’s been doing for over 20 years! She loves being active, whether it be hiking, weight lifting or throwing around a frisbee. She also loves Mexican food.

Joe Mabry , PTA

Education: Joe completed his degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Naugatuck Valley Community College in December of 2015.

Clinical Interests: Having completed clinical affiliations in both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy settings, Joe loves working with people, specifically in orthopedics

Fun Facts: Joe began his physical therapy journey as a patient at PTSMC. He sustained a knee injury playing football in high school and was referred to PTSMC to rehab and return to sports. He had no experience with PT prior to my injury, but after his first visit, he had fallen in love with the therapists and the profession. He knew he wanted to help others the same way his therapists helped him, so he went to school and became a Physical Therapist Assistant!

In his free time, he enjoys playing sports such as flag football, softball, ultimate frisbee and golf. His favorite sports teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers and Boston Red Sox. He is a huge Dave Matthews Band fan, and considers himself to be a closet nerd who loves video games and Harry Potter.
