Education: Pete graduated cum laude from Ithaca College in 1992, with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy. He has over 20 years of experience in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal, orthopedic and sports medicine populations. Pete managed a successful orthopedic and sports medicine facility in New York prior to relocating to Connecticut to become part of the PTSMC team in May 2009, and a partner in 2010.
Clinical Interests: Pete has worked with people of all ages including all levels of athletes from recreational to professional. He has broad training and clinical background in the McKenzie, Maitland, Mulligan, kinesio taping, and Cyriax. Pete has a particular interest in treatment of the “throwing” athlete, as well as injuries of the ankle, shoulder and knee. In 2011 he became trained in the Graston Technique for the management of soft tissue injuries. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Fun Facts: When not at the office, Pete enjoys being a father to his daughter. He also has a passion for wildlife and bird photography. Pete has had his photography published on the National Audubon Website and displayed as part of Massachusetts’ Audubon “Art of Bird Photography” exhibit.
Education: Kasey graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Providence College in May 2008. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree in May 2011 from the University of Rhode Island. Kasey joined PTSMC in July 2011.
Clinical Interests: Kasey has training in Mulligan and the Graston Technique, used for the management of soft tissue injuries. Some of her clinical interests include treatment of the spine, post-operative rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, and women’s health issues. She is developing a vestibular and concussion program for the Southington clinic and is interested in pursuing certifications in vestibular rehabilitation, Orthopedic Specialty certification, and McKenzie certification. Kasey also completed PTSMC’s Leadership and Management Development Program and is a chart auditor.
Fun Facts: Kasey enjoys being active. During her undergraduate schooling at Providence she played volleyball for 4 years, captaining her senior year. She also served as assistant coach during her 1st year of Physical Therapy school. Currently, she enjoys running in road races and doing CrossFit, which she hopes to pursue a Level 1 certification in.
Education: Ali received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree with an emphasis in pre-physical therapy from California State University San Marcos. In 2016, she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Sacred Heart University. We are happy to welcome her back to PTSMC after she finished her clinical affiliation in our Southington office during her doctorate program.
Interests: Some of Ali’s clinical interests include treating cervicogenic headaches, scapulohumeral kinematics, and lumbar stabilization with a particular interest in manual therapy techniques and regional interdependence. She is certified in the Graston Technique for management of soft tissue injuries and the Mulligan Technique.
Fun Facts: When Ali is not in the clinic, she enjoys living a healthy lifestyle through hiking, swimming, running, weight lifting, and cooking. Being a San Diego native, Ali loves spending her time at the beach, paddle boarding and fishing. She also enjoys an adventure with traveling and camping!
