Education: Anthony graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sciences and a specialty in Athletic Training. For years, Anthony worked in the clinical and school settings with athletes of all levels ranging from recreational to professional. In 2007, Anthony completed his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Sacred Heart University. He joined PTSMC of Westbrook in June 2007, where he continued to further his interests in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal disorders. In 2011, he was promoted to Assistant Director of the Westbrook office. In January of 2012, Anthony became the Partner and Director of PTSMC of Orange. Most recently, Anthony became a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist in June 2016.
Clinical Interests: In 2010, he received an advanced certification in the Graston Technique for the management of soft tissue injuries, and is also trained in biomechanical foot assessment and orthotic management. Anthony is a member of American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), APTA Sports Section, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT).
Education: Juliann graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Boston University. Juliann is a published author in the Journal of Elbow and Shoulder Surgery (Marinko LN, Chacko JM, Dalton D, Chacko C. The effectiveness of therapeutic exercise for painful shoulder conditions: a meta-analysis. J Shoulder Elbow Surg. 2011; 20(8): 1351-1359 doi:10.1016/j.jse.2011.05.013). Juliann began her career in Pittsburgh before moving back to Connecticut in Summer 2013. She worked as a float clinician, before joining the Orange office in July 2014. In March of 2017, she was promoted to Assistant Director for the Orange office.
Clinical Interests: Juliann became a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics in June 2014. She has taken a wide variety of continuing education on musculoskeletal injuries, and the integration of manual therapy and evidence based medicine into clinical practice to maximize patient outcomes. She enjoys working with patients with orthopedic and sports related injuries, as well as balance disorders. She is a member of the APTA (Orthopedic Section) and the CPTA (Manual Therapy/ Orthopedic Special Interest Group).
Fun Facts: When Juliann is not working in the clinic she enjoys exercising, arts and crafts, and traveling with her husband. She is an avid sports fan! She cheers for the New York Giants, Penn State, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Education: Katy received her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science Studies in January 2013 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in January 2016, both from Quinnipiac University.
Clinical Interests: Katy has a true passion for improving the physical function and overall well-being of individuals. She prides herself not only providing the best clinical care, but feels that providing positivity and compassion to clients throughout the rehabilitation process is just as important. She is also a member of the Connecticut chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Orthopedics and Neurology section.
Fun Facts: Outside of the office, Katy lives a very active lifestyle. Her favorite activities include swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding at her family’s summer cottage. She also loves to play with her dog, Sadie, by taking her for hikes and enjoying time at the dog park. Something you may not know about Katy: she loves mashed potatoes!
Education: Nicholas received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Geriatric Health and Wellness in 2013 from Sacred Heart University. In May 2016, he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy with honors from Sacred Heart University and is currently a resident in their Orthopedic Residency Program. At the end of 2016, he became Level 1 certified in Fibroblaster-Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization as well as Movement & System Impairment and Syndromes of the Lumbar Spine and Hip.
Clinical Interests: Nick is planning to become a Board Certified specialist in Orthopedics after his residency program is completed in 2017. He enjoys working with patients in all age ranges that suffer from sports – specific injuries. He also teaches musculoskeletal/ neuro muscular content to current DPT students at Sacred Heart.
Fun Facts: During his free time, Nick brews his own beer and has a collection of over 250 beer bottles and cans from all over the world. He also enjoys fishing, running, and water skiing. He considers himself to be a diehard New England Patriot fan.
