Steven DeCastro , PT, DPT

Education: Steven received a Bachelor’s degree in Health Studies cum laude from Boston University in 2001, and a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2003. He also has a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Steven joined PTSMC in June 2007, and became a partner in Groton in 2009.

Clinical Interests: Steven’s clinical interests focus on the evaluation and treatment of performers and athletes. Having been the exclusive physical therapist for the Mystic Ballet Company since 2010, he has enjoyed the opportunity to work with the highest level of dancer in the region.  As a sports fan, relationships with Fitch and Stonington High Schools provide enjoyment in realizing a return to play and a connection with the local sports scene. He completed his Cyriax Orthopedic Evaluation and Treatment certification in 2006.  He has attended various continuing education courses based in Maitland, McConnell, and McKenzie techniques. He also completed training in the Graston Technique; used for the management of soft tissue injuries.

Fun Facts: When not spending time with his wife and children, Steven is an avid sports fan, and enjoys running and playing soccer.


Bethany Grady , LAT, ATC - Robert E. Fitch HS

Education:  Bethany graduated from New England College with two Bachelor’s degrees in Health Science and Kinesiology, with a minor in Psychology. She later pursued her Master of Science in Athletic Training at Bridgewater State University. Bethany joined PTSMC Groton in August 2013, and works as the Athletic Trainer for both Fitch High School.

Clinical Interests: She has her NATABOC Certification, and special training in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). Some of Bethany’s clinical interests include Sports Medicine and Functional Movement Assessments.

Fun Facts:  When she is not on the field helping athletes, Bethany enjoys softball and running. She is also a HUGE Boston sports fan, especially the Boston Bruins. Her favorite food is mac n’ cheese.

Jeremy Fields , PTA, LAT, ATC, TPI CGFI

Education: Jeremy graduated from Endicott College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training.  He joined PTSMC in August 2012 and worked as the Athletic Trainer for the athletes of Waterford High School. Since joining PTSMC, he has completed his Physical Therapy Assistant degree from Kent State University in Ohio and joined the clinical staff of PTSMC Groton.

Clinical Interests: Jeremy is a certified as an Athletic Trainer, NATBOC, and in CPR/First Aid. Some of his clinical interests include sports medicine, physical therapy and functional training. He recently became certified through the Titleist Performance Institute to address the needs of golfers of all ages and levels.

Fun Facts: When he’s not at work, Jeremy loves to spend time with his wife, daughter and dog. His favorite food is pizza, and he is a HUGE Indiana Sports fanatic (Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana University Hoosiers). He is also an avid fan of Indy Car Racing.

Miranda Jasienowski , PT, DPT

Education: Miranda graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Movement Science from the University of Vermont in 2013. She then completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at UVM in 2015.

Clinical Interests: Miranda is a Graston Technique® certified clinician, used in the treatment of soft tissue lesions and fascial restrictions. She loves treating high school athletes and post-operative patients.

Fun Facts: Miranda loves spending time outdoors and has the goal of hiking every high peak in each state! She also loves running, traveling, baking and trying new foods!
