Jason Smutnick, PT, MSPT

Jason Smutnick, PT, MSPT

Jason graduated from the University of Connecticut with three degrees; a Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Genetic Sciences in 2002, a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2007, and a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2008.  Jason specializes in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy and is also trained in biomechanical foot assessment and orthotic management.  Additionally in July 2009, Jason had an article published in Physiotherapy.  The topic was on hip and knee flexion of lead and trail limbs during ascent of a step of different heights by normal adults.  In 2011, he completed training in the Graston Technique; used for the management of soft tissue injuries.  He joined PTSMC in August 2008 in our Watertown clinic, and was promoted to Director of our Stafford office in February 2012. 

 

 
Shelly Quirk, PT, MSPT, MBA, MCTA

Shelly Quirk, PT, MSPT, MBA, MCTA

Shelly graduated from Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education in 1989. She taught and coached before returning to Springfield College to complete her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1996.    For ten years Shelly practiced physical therapy and managed multiple physical therapy outpatient settings.  In 2005, Shelly opened her own private practice.  In addition to her management skills, Shelly brings clinical excellence.  She specializes in sports medicine and musculoskeletal injuries, and has additional training in women’s health and pediatrics.  She trained with world renowned Brian Mulligan in manual therapy.  She was the second female in the United States to earn her accreditation as a certified Mulligan Instructor and currently teaches nationally.  Shelly is also Cyriax certified, and has a certificate of training in Orthotic Design.  She enjoys treating patients, working with her current staff and teaching on the weekends.  In June 2010, Shelly joined PTSMC as a partner with the acquisition of our Stafford Office.

 
Christine Anthony, PT

Christine Anthony, PT

A graduate of Russell Sage College in Troy, NY, Chris has over 16 years of rehabilitation experience as a Registered Physical Therapist for the states of Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut. Her expertise includes sports rehabilitation with an emphasis on exercise and the latest manual therapy techniques. Chris’s diverse experience includes youth rehabilitation through geriatric care and post surgical healing. Areas of specialization include the Graston Technique and Kinesio Tex Taping Techniques, which offer athletes leading edge support and advanced rehabilitation methods.

A lifelong resident of Somers, CT, Chris is an active member of her community, volunteering with the Somers Cultural Commission and as a Girl- Scout Leader. She joined PTSMC in June 2010, and was promoted to assistant director in January 2011.
